The library was founded in 1919 as the central lending library of the Technical College in Zagreb. In accordance with the development of the University, the library is undergoing various changes, changing its names as well. Today it is the central lending library of the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, University of Zagreb.

The number of borrowed books and journal exceeds 20,000 per year. The book material consists of about 45,000 volumes of books, mainly from the fields of construction, geodesy, architecture, and urbanism. There are about 300 titles of the journals, and 36 titles are currently procured per year. The reference collection includes a large selection of encyclopedias, lexicons, dictionaries and other manuals, and the library also stores all master’s theses and doctoral dissertations defended at all three above-mentioned faculties. The library maintains an author’s alphabetical, professional, registry and inventory catalog.

The library is managed by the Faculty of Civil Engineering and is located on the ground floor of the main building of the Faculty at Kačićeva 26.

All full-time students can join the library upon presentation of the index. Two books can be borrowed at the same time for a period of 30 days. All borrowed books must be returned to the library before enrollment in the next year of study.

Book material is placed on shelves in free access to users. The entire space is under video surveillance, and the books are additionally protected by a sound protection system.

A computer catalog of the library is available here.
